The company has been founded in 1980 and has been listed in the Athens Stock Exchange in 1999. It's main share holder is the Agricultural Bank of Greece, wherein until 1999 agriculture croperatives, of all type, had also small shares.

Its foundation was the result of the separation of insurance operations, which were carried out by ABG until then, from his other banking activities.

Today, AGROTIKI INSURANCE is one of the largest insurance companies in Greece, and one of the few already listed on Athens Stock Exchange. It shows since its foundation and its main business philosophy is a focus on people.

This philosophy, which is reflected in its slogan: "We are always with you, no matter what", is expressed by providing innovative insurance products, and special plans, which make AGROTIKI INSURANCE the company with the most specialized forms of insurance coverage.

Today Agrotiki Insurance employs an administrative staff of 200 people and operates a sales force of 1000 agents through 60 offices and 441 branches of the Agricultural Bank of Greece including 5 in the Federal Republic of Germany. It operates in the Federal Republic of Germany through a branch office, it has applied and expects to be granted a license for operation in Romania and is negotiating a joint venture in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
